Pumping and expressing support
Did you know the pump flange (the bit that goes on your breast) you are using is very likely to big?
Most pumps come with a 24-26 mm flange size, most women are between 11-16mm, that the difference between a £1 coin and a 5p coin.
Using a flange that is to big, can cause issues such as:
-
breast trauma
-
low milk yield
-
low confidence and anxiety
-
lowering milk supply
-
increase need for formula
Using the correct flange size can
-
increase milk supply
-
pain free, comfortable pumping
-
increased confidence
-
less need for formula
Using an hospital grade pump, we can experiment with (almost) every mm sized flange from 9mm-30mm in four different shapes to find the one that fits you, gives you the most yield with no pain.
